Aconitum napellus Monkshood

A striking perennial with deep purple to bluish-purple flowers shaped like a monk’s hood; giving this plant its common name. Extremely poisonous if ingested or touched—always wear gloves when handling.

Prefers semi-shade and consistently moist soil. Once established; it does not like to be disturbed. Winter dormant.
