Astilbe chinensis

Astilbe chinensis is a compact; low-growing perennial reaching around 20 cm in foliage height and up to 30 cm when in bloom. Its finely divided leaves form a lush; green carpet; making it an excellent groundcover under trees and shrubs.

Lavender-pink plumes appear from late summer to early autumn; providing a soft splash of colour when many other perennials are fading. Unlike most Astilbes; this variety tolerates more sun and occasional dry periods; provided the soil remains moist and humus-rich.

Easy to grow and low-maintenance; it’s an ideal choice for shaded borders; woodland gardens; or mass planting.
