Physocarpus Purpurea

A hardy deciduous shrub featuring large; deep purple-bronze leaves that provide striking colour throughout the season. In summer; clusters of tiny white flowers open from pink buds; followed by rich red autumn foliage. As the shrub matures; its peeling bark adds further ornamental interest. Best grown in a sunny position and protected from dry sites. Ideal for shrub borders.
