Alnus ‘Cordata’ 6L

Fast-growing; deep-rooted; nitrogen-fixing tree suitable for a wide range of sites. Moderately drought-tolerant and trims well; making it excellent for shelterbelts and for providing cover to native under-storey species. Semi-evergreen; typically holding its leaves from September to June. Valuable for soil conservation on hill country.
Recommended planting density for shelter: 1.5–4 m spacing. Cold-hardy once established (after the first season).
