Clematis patens ‘The President’

Spectacular deciduous climber. Huge rich purple flowers with red anthers in spring and summer. Great for climbing through trees. Very pretty. They flower on last season’s growth; so prune only the dead and weak stems out in late winter. Trim to shape after flowering. Best with the roots planted in the shade; and head in the sun.
