Phormium tenax (Harakeke / NZ Flax) is a bold New Zealand native; forming robust clumps of broad; vibrant green foliage that bring structure and year-round impact to the landscape. Traditionally valued for weaving and fibre; it also makes an excellent shelter; screening; or erosion-control plant. Flower spikes rich in nectar appear through summer; attracting birds and pollinators. Extremely hardy and adaptable; thriving from wetlands to coastal gardens.
