Venus Fly Trap

The Venus flytrap is a very low-growing herbaceous perennial. Which means it dies back in winter. When you touch the traps to close them they use all their energy and die back as they have been tricked into thinking there is food resting on them. The fly trap is a carnivorous plant native to subtropical wetlands on the East Coast of the United States.
